Women Writing for (a) Change
Women Writing for (a) Change is a community of
women, for whom Creative writing is - or is becoming - an important creative,
spiritual and/or therapeutic practice. WWf(a)C's feminist philosophy is
inclusive, collaborative and accepting of all women, whether they are
beginning or more experienced writers.
Our mission is to foster a healthy creative writing community where the words of
women from all walks of life are nurtured, developed and celebrated.
Founder Mary Pierce Brosmer was an English teacher and published poet who,
in 1991, started her community to share and develop writing skills among
women and young girls. Since 2004, there has been training for women
starting schools beyond Cincinnati. There are now schools in Grand
Junction, Co; Burlington, VT; Indianapolis, IN; Birmingham, AL;
Bloomington, IN; Portland, OR; and, Louisville, KY.
